Director, Social Media Strategy

Organization: Los Angeles Clippers
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Overview: The Director, Social Media Strategy will lead the planning, alignment and management of all Clippers social media campaigns, developing content strategy and leading its execution across all social media platforms. Director will be responsible for fitting social media content into the Clippers’ overall digital content strategy and meeting overall business and basketball operations goals and benchmarks. Essential to the position is the ability to lead a social media team, creatively lead content production, grow and engage domestic and international audiences and execute overall digital and social strategies while maintaining brand integrity and consistency.

  • Lead and develop the overall social media strategy to drive engagement and increase followers

  • Lead and develop a team of employees dedicated to social media strategy execution, including providing day-to-day leadership and best practices for overall professional and platform growth

  • Advise on overall digital content goals as related to social media strategies, best practices and guidelines

  • Define, build and amplify a consistent brand and channel voice across all platforms

  • Oversee expansion of reach and engagement of L.A. Clippers owned social media channels

Why we like it?

This role puts a successful candidate right in the middle of an NBA organization, and allows him or her to create the strategy utilized on all social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, Pinterest, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn). This Downtown LA-based position is a mix of storytelling, public relations and creative through social media. The Clippers boast over 4 million Instagram followers, 3.7 million likes on Facebook and nearly 2 million followers on Twitter.
